Emergency Response to Hurricane Beryl

Carriacou Island, Grenada
2024
Impact: 400 people

Project Type: Immediate Relief
Funded by: Alison Thompson and Third Wave Volunteers

WATERisLIFE responded to the humanitarian crisis caused by Hurricane Beryl, which left many communities in Grenada without access to essential services, including clean drinking water. In partnership with Third Wave Volunteers and Dr. Alison Thompson, 400 individual Magic Straw filters were distributed on the island of Carriacou. This portable filtration technology provided immediate access to safe water for 400 people, helping to prevent disease outbreaks and support recovery efforts in one of the hardest-hit areas.
