Water is just the beginning
One drop at a time. Human-centered.
Locally driven. Built to last
WATERisLIFE works hand-in-hand with communities to develop sustainable solutions for clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Our approach is human-centered, locally led, and built to last.
Most water projects fail because they lack community ownership, proper maintenance, or cultural understanding. We do it differently—by staying. By listening. By becoming part of the process, not just dropping off a filter.
Community Water Businesses / Social Water Businesses
We co-create small water enterprises with local groups, especially youth and women. These facilities provide safe water, showers, and toilets at affordable prices—while also generating income to sustain the project and create jobs.
Urgent Relief
We respond quickly to emergencies and health crises with ultrafiltration bucket systems and Magic Straws. These simple, immediate tools provide safe water when there’s no time to wait.
Social Long-Term Projects
In schools, care homes, rural communities, and urban slums, we install our Black Box filtration systems and upgrade the infrastructure needed to ensure access to clean drinking water—including tanks, water points, and piping.
Our Principles
What makes us different?
We look beyond water
Most water projects fail because there’s no real long-term partnership with communities. We do things differently: we stay after implementation, build trust over time, and work closely with people—because real impact begins with real relationships.
We don’t drill wells—we rehabilitate
Whenever possible, we don’t start from scratch. We improve what already exists, rehabilitating water sources and infrastructure to make them functional, safe, and sustainable again. It’s cost-effective, community-centered, and rooted in respect for local resources.
Work local
Water is specific to each place. That’s why every project is led by people who live there and know the reality.
Stay long
We don’t disappear after implementation. We stay at least two years—and often longer. It takes time for a project to truly succeed: to train, listen, adapt, and ensure proper maintenance.
Empower people
We build leadership from within, focusing especially on empowering youth and women to take ownership of the projects and lead their communities forward.
Use smart, simple technology
We adapt to each context with solutions that are efficient, affordable, and easy to maintain.
Feet on the ground
Our team is in the field—not behind desks. We’re in slums, villages, and schools every week, walking side by side with communities.
Sign agreements
Every project is formalized through community agreements. It’s our way of ensuring shared responsibility, trust, and long-term success.
